NFS is a subsidiary of Fidelity Investments and Pershing is a subsidiary of BNY Mellon. As custodians they provide services including, but not limited processing, safe keeping, segregation, and reporting of client assets. They allow advisors to keep better track of our client investment portfolios and provide the tools needed to manage assets effectively.
Ascensus --- If you are involved with a retirement plan that Resource Planning Group manages, you may have heard of Ascensus, but you may not know who they are or what they do. Ascensus has more than 30 years of experience in partnering financial professionals to offer services related to retirement plans. Ascensus assists Resource Planning Group with the retirement plan administration and compliance testing needed to provide quality service to organizations and their plan participants.
CFP Board --- Unfortunately there are financial advisors that are not looking out for their client's best interests. Thankfully, the CFP board, a nonprofit organization, is dedicated to protecting the investor. Its mission is to benefit the public by granting the Certified Financial Planning certification to advisors who have demonstrated a standard of excellence through education, examination, ethics and other requirements. A CFP professional has demonstrated competency in each of the 6 steps of the financial planning process as defined by the CFP Board. This process includes: establishing and defining the relationship with the client, gathering client data, analyzing and evaluation the client's financial status, developing and presenting financial planning recommendations, implementing the financial planning recommendations, and monitoring the plan. FPA --- The FPA is the principle professional organization for CFP professionals, but is open to other professions such as attorneys, CPAs, educators, and other financial professionals. The FPA meetings also offer opportunities to network with other advisors and discuss case studies and strategies.
